note I didn't bold every mentioned trait, but I did bold at least the requested minimum: 1 positive, 3 negatives. Hopefully this is okay!)
The one really big thing about this guy, who comes off as a powerful and strict ruler that is callous by nature, is actually that he is extremely devoted to his people and really really really really is all about his family (that he outwardly disguises as merely him defending the house of Wales in name and honor). Considering their parents are deceased, family means his two younger siblings, Lamorek and Percival. Lamorek is away indefinitely (we have not yet seen him in present canon only in flashbacks), which means (at current) family equals Percival.
Although Aglovale is not a cruel or otherwise twisted individual, the man he becomes all rises from a single negative trait that is developed in response to a traumatizing incident, the death of his mother. Before then, he was a typical child, working hard to be mature and responsible in order to be a model son: help his mother (especially with taking care of his brothers), have his father see promise and worth in him as the next in line to rule Wales, and as the eldest sibling, to take care of and protect his younger brothers, as well as see them grow into proper honorable members of their family.
His mother was the sole influence of being kind, generous, and generous; that those who are fortunate enough to be able to assist others that are less fortunate do so. His father was practical and logical and not an emotional ruler or father (his children respected him greatly but we only see flashbacks of them with their mother), and therefore once his mother passed away he had no influence that could teach him how to view the world and rule with compassion.
His mother's death left a very young (I would guess around ten years old) Aglovale
resentful to the point of labeling the entire human race (which extends to humanoids and etc) as evil. This foundation of
hate was accompanied by a promise that he would never forgive, never trust, and never let himself be so helpless as he was in trying to save his mother (again).
From here, Aglovale followed in his father's footsteps at every turn, including his dedication as a ruler and his work as a researcher. With Aglovale's change from their mother's death, the three siblings eventually drifted apart and went their separate ways when their father passed away. Alone, Aglovale dedicated his entire life into continuing his father's research and ruling Wales in a way that would never allow the evil nature of humans to take root in the country.
As a result, Aglovale as an adult is extremely
callous and speaks without any hint of kindness towards those he addresses. Likewise, never expresses his festering hatred showing incredible composure and control of his emotions (well... at least physically) even in the most trying of situations. Although we never see him interact with the people of Wales, he is described to be (overly) strict and critical of his youngest brother as they clash on what the best way to rule is. Still, the people trust him so that strictness may be only reserved for people in shady business).
His ambition and hate leads him to become manipulated by a demon and, while his intentions were not necessarily villainous (it is stated as initially wishing for more power to keep humans in check), he allows those intentions to get out of his control (and mutate into world domination no big deal) and is only saved due to Gran and Percival (more or less he wants to take over the skydom, but it's heavily implied that all he wanted to do was see his mother one last time). However, the demon chose Aglovale only because he saw strength and a human that was not ruled by their emotions, or so he thought. If Agovale had been truly heartless and ruthless, he would have been unstoppable in his conquest. Aglovale is given a second chance in the aftermath of the incident and allowed to continue to rule Wales.
Although he is portrayed as someone who hates to lose and is quite
stubborn in his ways and opinion, he shows that he is also capable of being
reasonable once he is proved wrong (--which, is not exactly an easy thing to do at all, butcthe point remains). Additionally, Aglovale is a very
rational and
observant as well as patient. This allows him to be quite astute when dealing with other individuals, especially those that attempt to manipulate him. It also allows him to anticipate for every action by his enemies when he makes his decisions and plans.
On the otherhand, because that one time manipulation was successful, he is easily
suspicious of others having alterior motives when they present him audacious suggestions. As an individual who never makes the same mistake twice, his tendency to not easily trust others can be overcome by demonstration of sincerity in action rather than words. He still tends to remain alone, however (and we do see him struggle to admit to Percival his
struggle with loneliness that aided in both his being manipulated and his inability to understand what being alive after being defeated is worth (he feels unneeded because Percival has his friends). In this way, he shows that he is capable of being insecure despite his remarkable outward displays of confidence in most situations. The confidence is not exactly fake—he can be
arrogant, but he is not as confident when it comes to himself personally rather than what he feels must be done as a ruler. For example, he loves his brothers dearly, but he does not see himself as someone that should remain alive for his siblings because he only considers his existence when having failed as burdensome).
Aglovale is very isolated despite his intelligence. He doesn't understand many things that are common to normal people and makes it a hobby to wander the castle town incognito for insight on the people and their daily lives (mainly for judging how his policies are working and what should be done as a next step but also just curiosity). At his canon point, he is extremely committed to his people and their wellbeing, but he won't ever speak of it outloud.
He also really likes small animals.
Powers and Abilities: Aglovale is an incredibly talented magician/sorcerer and swordmaster. He is considered unmatched in both. His younger brothers specialize in only one ( Lamorek with magic, Percival with sword ). The two of them have never been able to defeat him. (Although Percival does with assistance from Gran and Lyria in Percival's story).
He is an ice elementalist, known as the Lord of Frost for this reason. (It's important to note that being an elementalist does not mean they are magicians. Percival is a fire elementalist, but he is not considered skilled as a magician even though his flames are crazy strong. Being a magician seems to require the ability to make use of magic circles in Granblue canon).
His capability with magic circles allows him to create spells (any kind of offensive/defensive spell), particularly summon circles. The only current game example of this has been with using black magic that has various status effects, and harnessing the power of the Otherworld. These also allows for summoning demons. Unless there is some particularly unique thing the mods believe this could be used for in the game setting, though, I won't be having him bother to use summon circles. Any other use of magic circles would be limited as he does not like being so open about everything he is capable of. He likes his trump cards.
Inventory: sword, armor, father's research papers, I can't think of anything else other than clothes.
